The Meir Ariel series

The “Kalba Shua” pub, a winter night in 1990s Jerusalem. A cracked voice singing impossible words to seven people. Terminal Luminalt, other sounds.

Years later, a small winery on a rainy, cold mountain. Nobody taught me to make wine — I simply put grapes and rain, words and wind, into a barrel. An old friend by a burning fireplace. A complex simplicity, a wine that shatters into a thousand shades.

To Israeli creation

The series began with a suggestion from Shahar Ariel, Meir’s son. From 2010 barrels were set aside for the project — twelve wines from the 2010, 2011 and 2012 vintages, in numbered bottles carrying his drawings and words on the labels.
